At midnight on October 29, Danielle Marsh gave fans a song without much fanfare. The former NewJeans member uploaded a 94-second video of herself singing “Stay,” an original track she wrote and composed. Wearing headphones and accompanied by acoustic guitar, she kept the performance simple. There was no elaborate set to distract from the music.
The timing caught people’s attention, too. October 29 is Bunnies Day, the anniversary of the day NewJeans introduced the name of its official fandom in 2022. Four years later, Danielle’s unexpected upload gave fans something new to listen to on a date they already hold close.

A short song with Danielle’s name on the credits
The video is titled “Danielle Marsh – Stay (Live).” Its description credits Danielle with both writing and composing the song. Jeong Seok-hun plays guitar, while producer Z handled the mix. LIVY filmed the performance and DEE edited it; Miso is also credited with a special appearance.
The arrangement leaves plenty of space around her voice. Rather than building toward a big pop production, “Stay” draws its character from the guitar and Danielle’s restrained delivery. In English, she sings about pain, distance and the uneasy feeling that starting again may not bring things back to the way they were.
That makes the video feel personal, but a personal-sounding song does not necessarily tell us exactly what happened in the songwriter’s life. Danielle has not publicly explained whom the lyrics are about or whether she wrote them specifically for Bunnies Day.
A familiar name behind the camera
One of the credits may stand out to longtime NewJeans listeners. Editor DEE (Shin Dong-geul) previously directed music videos including “Hype Boy,” “Cookie” and “Supernatural.” This time, the presentation is much smaller: a voice, a guitar and a camera close enough to make the performance feel immediate.
The release comes as Danielle remains involved in a legal dispute with her former agency, ADOR. That background has naturally shaped some reactions to “Stay.” But without an explanation from the singer, it would be a leap to treat the lyrics as a direct account of that dispute. The music deserves to be heard on its own terms.
There is also an important distinction about the release itself. As of October 30, “Stay” has been shared as a live YouTube performance; a separate commercial audio release, album announcement or full official music video has not been confirmed. For now, the original upload is the clearest way to experience the song.

The official video runs for 1 minute and 34 seconds. It is Danielle’s own acoustic performance, not a fan edit or a teaser.
