Profile
HANRORO is the stage name of South Korean singer-songwriter Han Ji-soo, born November 11, 2000. She made her musical debut in March 2022 with Let Me Love My Youth, a song that established her reflective writing and distinctive modern-rock sound.
Her songwriting moves between anxiety, self-doubt, endurance, affection and the need to care for others. Literature is part of the creative process rather than a decorative influence: she turns brief scenes and recurring characters into a conversation between music and fiction. Her stage name was inspired partly by a high-school nickname, “Han-log,” a reference to her given name Ji-soo and mathematics. In concert, the intimacy of her writing is matched by expressive vocals and a full-band modern-rock sound. In 2025 she also appeared as a special guest during Coldplay’s concerts in South Korea.
HANRORO’s debut was followed by the EP Take-off (2023), whose songs include the fan favorite “I Will Love You,” and Home (2024). Her third EP, JAMONG SALGU CLUB (August 4, 2025), developed a coming-of-age story alongside a short novel of the same title, published in July 2025. The combination shows how her songs can function both as stand-alone recordings and as chapters in a broader literary world.
At the 23rd Korean Music Awards on February 26, 2026, HANRORO won Musician of the Year, recognition that confirmed her growing importance beyond the indie scene. She then released the two-track single LOVE & HATE on April 2, accompanied by official music videos for “1111” and “GAME OVER ?”. Her July 9 single “You and I” was released with an animated video connected to a Pompompurin collaboration, following an early live appearance at the Seoul Jazz Festival. Unlike group members with occasional solo tracks, HANRORO is an independently established solo recording artist.
