CHUEI LI YU (최립우), also written Chuei Liyu and Choi Lip-woo, is a Taiwanese singer born on January 2, 2004. He first became widely known on Mnet’s BOYS II PLANET, reaching the final stage and developing an international following for his expressive vocals and stage presence.

Unlike some artists whose first individual song appears only within a group album, Chuei has a separate, formally issued solo debut. FNC Entertainment released his single album SWEET DREAM on December 3, 2025, with UxYOUxU as its lead single. The three-track record also includes Fresh and Hello, My Friend. FNC issued the solo title music video, which belongs to Chuei’s own discography rather than FLARE U’s later group catalogue.

His solo release combines trap-pop, bright dance-pop and a softer R&B ballad. He continued to meet listeners through fan events, including the Drawing Yu fan-meeting series, while preparing for his next chapter as a member of the FNC duo. This history makes CHUEI LI YU both a group member and a bona fide solo artist under the KWaveScope discography rule.

On May 13, 2026, he debuted alongside Kang Woo Jin in FLARE U with the EP YOUTH ERROR. Their title song WAY 2 U expressed the breathless excitement of affection through bright hybrid-pop textures. Subsequent Japanese activities and the October 14 release of LOVEHOOD built on the chemistry of two performers whose musical strengths remain distinct.

The group’s second EP, led by Bloom, explores the emotional changes that follow first love. In interviews Chuei has compared the new material’s more mature feeling with the buoyant sound of the duo’s debut, and spoken about his joy at making a different type of music with a partner. The songs are credited to FLARE U as a duo, not to his independent solo catalogue.
