Roy Kim (로이킴), born Kim Sang-woo (김상우), is a South Korean solo singer-songwriter known for acoustic pop, guitar-centred arrangements and heartfelt ballads. His television breakthrough came in 2012, when he won the fourth season of Mnet’s Superstar K. He made his solo recording debut in April 2013 with the popular single Bom Bom Bom.

His first album Love Love Love followed in June 2013, with Home arriving in 2014 and The Great Dipper in 2015. Later releases including Blooming Season and the popular ballad Only Then reinforced his position as a singer-songwriter whose songs speak about everyday relationships, time and personal growth.

His fourth studio album, ,and, was released in October 2022. Songs including When Spring Comes (2024), If You Ask Me What Love Is (2024), As Is (2025) and No Words Can Say (2025) continued to develop his melodic, intimate sound. Bloom Again, issued in May 2026, is a separate remake EP; these interpretations do not make him the composer of the original songs.

Roy Kim is currently managed by DEUL, following his earlier relationship with WAKEONE. His latest original single CRY OUT LOUD, released on October 6, 2026, was written and composed by Roy Kim. The song encourages listeners to express sadness honestly rather than hiding it for the sake of appearing strong.

He is scheduled to headline the 2026–27 ROY KIM LIVE TOUR [R:O:Y], including three nights at Seoul’s KSPO DOME on November 20–22, 2026. The third concert was announced following strong demand. His fan community is called ROYROSE. This profile focuses on his independent solo music, individual concerts and official artist channels.
