How Fantagio became more than a record label
Fantagio is easier to understand as an entertainment-management company than as a single K-pop brand. Its business includes managing actors, producing music and participating in drama and other screen projects. A musical release and a leading role in a series may appear under the same agency name, but they operate on different schedules and commercial terms.
The company has a complicated corporate timeline. The legal entity’s reported foundation in 1991 refers to an earlier corporate business, while the Fantagio entertainment identity developed later. Simply calling it a ‘K-pop agency founded in 1991’ would blur a legal milestone with the creative history audiences recognize.
ASTRO: the group that put Fantagio on many fans’ maps
ASTRO debuted in 2016 and established a musical identity through energetic pop, choreography and live performance. Over time, individual members pursued acting, hosting and music outside the ordinary group release cycle. CHA EUN-WOO’s acting career is a widely recognized example of the crossover between screen visibility and music audiences.
The late MOONBIN remains part of ASTRO’s history and should be remembered respectfully. A photograph from an earlier promotion represents that historical moment. It should not be presented as an undated image of a present-day active lineup. Similarly, a former group member’s independent project does not automatically mean Fantagio manages the project.
LUN8: a different generation and a different challenge
LUN8 debuted in 2023 with a newer group identity and its own recording and promotion schedule. Its career cannot be evaluated by simply comparing it with ASTRO’s established achievements: the acts started at different times and appeal to audiences through different material.
Artist rosters change. A February 2026 corporate disclosure described the company’s music activities, and any later lineup claim should be checked against a fresh official profile. This is particularly important for fan pages that recycle an eight-member debut photograph long after an update in membership.
A mixed roster of performers and projects
Fantagio’s actor-management business is not a footnote. Screen production, advertising, recorded music and live promotion offer different ways to develop and represent talent. That breadth helps explain why the company’s public news is not limited to album announcements.
At the same time, the agency’s presence in a drama or brand campaign should never be interpreted as proof that it owns the entire production. A management agency’s contract with a performer is separate from production ownership and from the rights to the music or video involved.
Revenue and financial performance: reported results
Fantagio is listed on KOSDAQ under stock code 032800. Unlike private labels with limited financial disclosure, it publishes financial statements for the listed business. The figures below are consolidated company results, not revenue attributable to ASTRO, LUN8 or any individual actor.
| Fiscal year ended June 30 | Consolidated revenue | Operating profit/(loss) | Net profit/(loss) |
|---|---|---|---|
| FY2025 | KRW 38.19 billion | KRW (8.03) billion | KRW (9.20) billion |
| FY2026 | KRW 37.23 billion | KRW (7.52) billion | KRW (11.84) billion |
Reporting-period note: FY2026 covers July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, rather than the 2026 calendar year. The September 21, 2026 audit report gives revenue of KRW 37,228,391,577 and an operating loss of KRW 7,522,403,523 on the consolidated basis. Revenue fell by approximately 2.5% compared with the preceding fiscal year; the operating loss narrowed, while the net loss increased.
Fantagio reports work involving artist management, recordings, merchandise and screen productions. These are different business activities, but a precise FY2026 percentage split should not be presented without verified segment disclosures. Neither the group-level revenue total nor a general business category permits an accurate estimate of a particular artist’s pay.
Financial basis: Fantagio FY2026 audit report and prior-period comparative figures, September 21, 2026 (consolidated). Values are rounded and negative amounts indicate losses. FY2024 has been omitted from this comparison because the equivalent consolidated figures were not independently reconciled for this version.
Why an international fan might visit the Fantagio area
Fantagio’s published office address is in Gangnam, a district associated with many entertainment businesses. It can be useful as geographical context for travelers, but the address is a workplace rather than an officially advertised tourist attraction.
Fans interested in a concert, pop-up or promotional exhibition should use the announced event venue. There is no reason to assume access to agency floors, training rooms or private staff areas simply because an address is public.
