BTS’ V and Jung Kook Visit Buenos Aires’ El Ateneo Grand Splendid During Argentina Tour

October 29, 2026 | K-POP News

BTS members V and Jung Kook found time to explore Buenos Aires between the group’s concerts in Argentina. On October 22, the pair visited El Ateneo Grand Splendid, the celebrated bookstore housed in a former theater on Avenida Santa Fe. Their afternoon out became part of a wider story in the Argentine press: how the seven members spent time in the city beyond the stage.

Local newspaper LA NACION reported on their bookstore stop on October 26 and revisited it in an October 28 account of BTS’ stay in Argentina. The visit itself took place a week earlier, not on the publication date of either article.

V and Jung Kook step inside a Buenos Aires landmark

At El Ateneo Grand Splendid, V and Jung Kook explored the upper levels of the former theater and paused among its ornate balconies. Jung Kook, who had been carrying a camera during the trip, took photographs of V. Away from the concert stage, it was a chance for the two musicians to experience one of Buenos Aires’ best-known cultural landmarks.

Their outing continued at Palacio Barolo. According to the Argentine report, the two had hoped to see the sunset, but poor weather changed their plans, so they stepped out onto a balcony for photographs instead. Later, they had dinner at Uni Omakase.

A separate LA NACION culture report looked more closely at the bookstore visit and the books discussed there, including works by Argentine author Samanta Schweblin and Gabriel García Márquez. The coverage also mentioned tango records as parting gifts. Those small details give the stop a local flavor that goes well beyond the usual concert-day photographs.

Watch a short video from the El Ateneo visit

A short fan-uploaded video shared on October 23 shows Jung Kook photographing V during their El Ateneo outing. It captures a little of the relaxed atmosphere described by Argentine newspapers. The clip is not an official BTS Instagram Reel, so we have kept the original creator’s attribution and link.

What the rest of BTS did in Argentina

The Buenos Aires visit was not limited to the bookstore. LA NACION reported that all seven members spent time in the Flores neighborhood after arriving on October 19, eating at Maniko Fried Chicken. On another day, RM visited the city’s Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve and ate at the well-known steakhouse Don Julio. V also tried a local grill restaurant, Rebelión.

Other members made their own stops: RM and j-hope were photographed around Avenida Corrientes, while the newspaper reported visits to the Güerrín pizzeria and other restaurants. These were separate outings by different members, not one group itinerary shared by all seven.

An Argentina trip remembered beyond the concerts

BTS played three sold-out concerts in La Plata on October 21, 23 and 24. LA NACION reported a combined audience of roughly 158,000. The shows were the reason for the visit, but the quieter scenes in bookshops, parks and restaurants have given local fans another set of memories to look back on.

After the concerts, the group departed Argentina via Rosario because of runway works at Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza airport, according to the same local reporting. They then continued to São Paulo for the next part of the tour. For V and Jung Kook, the El Ateneo photographs are one small snapshot of a much bigger week in Argentina.
