Profile

WJSN, also known as Cosmic Girls, is a South Korean girl group that debuted on February 25, 2016 through Starship Entertainment and former Chinese partner Yuehua Entertainment. The name combines space-inspired storytelling with melodic, theatrical and dance-pop music. From “Secret” and “Save Me, Save You” to “As You Wish,” “UNNATURAL” and “Last Sequence,” the group has built a distinct musical identity.

WJSN won the televised music competition Queendom 2 in 2022 and released the special single Sequence that summer. In February 2026, the group returned with “Bloom hour,” a digital single celebrating the tenth anniversary of its debut. STARSHIP’s current Korean artist profile lists the eight members under its contract, while former agency artists LUDA and DAWON remained WJSN members according to Starship’s 2023 statement. These different types of membership are not interchangeable.

The three former Chinese members Cheng Xiao, Meiqi and Xuanyi left WJSN in 2023. The group’s current known membership is ten. Members also pursue individual acting, musical theatre, songwriting and solo recordings. SOLO badges are reserved for independently released singles or albums, currently SEOLA and DAYOUNG in this profile; group subunits and soundtrack features do not by themselves qualify.

WJSN developed its signature sound through the fantasy-pop single “Secret” (2016), the orchestral dance-pop of “Save Me, Save You” (2018), and the fan-favorite “As You Wish” (2019). Later releases including “UNNATURAL” and “Last Sequence” introduced more mature dance arrangements. The group also won Queendom 2 in 2022. Its history distinguishes group recordings, CHOCOME and THE BLACK subunit projects, and individually credited solo music.
