Profile
Baby DONT Cry (베이비돈크라이), also known by the abbreviation BDC, is a four-member South Korean girl group under P NATION, the entertainment label founded by PSY. The members are YIHYUN, KUMI, MIA and BENI, comprising two South Korean and two Japanese performers. The quartet officially debuted on June 23, 2025 with F Girl, making it the label’s first girl group.
Their group name suggests a contrast between a gentle outward image and the courage to withstand difficult circumstances. P NATION calls the group’s musical approach Baby Rock: rhythmic pop and guitar-based energy combined with a defiant attitude and lively performance. The group first introduced that outlook with the prerelease video Bet You’ll Regret It on June 15, before releasing its debut title track a week later.
The debut project F Girl was developed with creative direction and production contributions from Jeon Soyeon of i-dle. Rather than treating the members’ youth as a reason to be quiet or compliant, the music emphasized confidence, individuality and the willingness to challenge expectations. The contrast between bright styling and direct lyrics became an important part of the group’s early identity.
On November 19, 2025, Baby DONT Cry released the digital single I DONT CARE. P NATION described the song as a refusal to abandon goals because of others’ judgments, using strong band arrangements and a steadily building performance. The single demonstrated that their energetic sound could also carry an assertive, motivational message.
The group returned in March 2026 with its first mini album, AFTER CRY, released on March 24. The five songs are Mama I’m Alright, Bittersweet, Shapeshifter, Moves Like Ciara and Tears On My Pillow. The title song Bittersweet explores how moments of pain and happiness continue to shape a person long after they pass; the March 11 prerelease Shapeshifter takes a more confrontational approach to changing identity.
According to P NATION, AFTER CRY opens a larger Tears trilogy. The album presents emotional uncertainty not as a final defeat but as the beginning of self-definition. The songwriting and production involved Kim Eana and Ryan Jhun across much of the project, while Moves Like Ciara introduced a hip-hop-oriented texture. The group promoted the release with media showcases, television stages and choreography-centered performances.
Baby DONT Cry’s fandom is known as Cherries. Their activities have also included international performances and media appearances. Individually, leader Yihyun became an SBS Inkigayo MC in January 2026 and recorded the ending theme for the Pokémon: Rising Again OST in April. That personal soundtrack credit is identified on her member page and is not treated as a Baby DONT Cry group release or a stand-alone solo album.
On October 26, 2026, P NATION announced the group’s next single, Replay, for November 4, 2026, with Korean and Japanese releases planned. A Japanese debut mini album, DAYBREAK/Replay, is scheduled for January 20, 2027. Both are future releases as of November 1, 2026 and therefore do not yet belong to the completed discography. The current group videos and member pages appear below.
