Profile
DAESUNG, born Kang Dae-sung, is a vocalist in BIGBANG and a solo performer known in Japan as D-LITE. His singing combines a bright tone with a strong, open delivery. In a BIGBANG song, that sound often gives a chorus or an emotional passage a different weight from the other members’ voices. His solo recordings give him more room to develop that character across an entire song.
His career has moved between Korean and Japanese releases. “Look at Me, Gwisun” began his solo activities in 2008, while the 2013 Japanese album D’scover established a longer solo project under the D-LITE name. His Japanese work and concerts are an essential part of his career, rather than a separate artist identity: DAESUNG and D-LITE refer to the same singer.
For a first listen, “Falling Slowly” offers a restrained entry point. Follow it with “Universe” to hear the broader scale of the D’s WAVE period, then compare the different energy of “HANDO-CHOGUA.” Listening in that sequence makes his range clearer than beginning with a long list of releases. His appeal also carries into live performances, where phrasing, audience interaction and humour become part of the experience.
After Japanese solo dome concerts in 2017, he continued to develop his own touring career. The 2025 D’s WAVE Asia tour included Japanese arena dates in Kobe and Yokohama, followed by encore shows in Osaka in early 2026. He also returned to shared stages with G-DRAGON and TAEYANG. This profile keeps his solo videos together, while BIGBANG recordings remain on the group’s page.

Group awards belong to the BIGBANG profile and are not presented here as individual solo wins.
