Seven members who left their original agency without ending the group, then rebuilt full-group activities around independent solo careers and a shared GOT7 identity.
Profile
GOT7 debuted under JYP Entertainment in January 2014 with seven members: JAY B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom. Early releases paired hip-hop and R&B with performance concepts that frequently used martial-arts-inspired choreography, while later albums placed increasing emphasis on songwriting and production by the members.
After all seven members left JYP Entertainment in 2021, they continued to identify and promote as GOT7 while pursuing individual careers through different companies and countries. Their 2022 self-titled EP confirmed that the group would continue beyond the end of its original contracts.
On January 20, 2025, GOT7 reunited for the nine-track mini album WINTER HEPTAGON, released in partnership with Kakao Entertainment. All seven members contributed creatively, and BamBam co-wrote and produced the title track “PYTHON.” The album was followed by the NESTFEST concerts in Seoul and Bangkok.
The group’s fandom is commonly known as IGOT7 or Ahgase. GOT7’s structure is now unusual in K-pop: there is no single company managing every member’s solo career, but the seven members continue to regroup for GOT7 releases and concerts.
