There is a small but telling detail in ROSÉ’s latest partnership: the launch is taking place in Seoul, not London. On October 26, Johnnie Walker named the BLACKPINK singer its new Black Label creative partner, with an event at Bar 81 inside Signiel Seoul. The plan is to take the campaign beyond Korea to markets including the United Kingdom, Indonesia and China.
For ROSÉ, whose career now moves between BLACKPINK, solo releases and fashion houses, it is another sign of how international brands see K-pop artists: not simply as faces on billboards, but as people with audiences in several cultures at once.
Why Seoul is the starting point

The setting is Bar 81 on the upper floors of Signiel Seoul, in Lotte World Tower. The event introduces a signature drink called “Twist of Something Highball,” developed for the collaboration. The company’s campaign materials frame the partnership around self-expression, with ROSÉ contributing her own creative perspective. Those are the brand’s stated aims, rather than evidence that the campaign has already changed consumer behaviour.
The choice of Seoul makes sense beyond the symbolism. ROSÉ’s musical career took shape in Korea, but much of her solo audience follows her across languages and continents. An international rollout can start with the place that helped build her public identity without staying confined to that market.
It is a brand deal, but her solo career is the bigger context
ROSÉ is widely recognised as a member of BLACKPINK, yet her career has become much more individual over the past two years. Her album rosie and the Bruno Mars collaboration “APT.” gave listeners outside the traditional K-pop audience a reason to know her name. In September 2026, she took a very different creative route with “New Trick,” made with an iPhone-focused visual campaign.
That combination matters here. Music, fashion and advertising may be separate businesses, but for a global artist the audience often moves between all three. A fan may discover a singer through a record, see her at a Paris runway show and encounter her again in a brand campaign. Johnnie Walker is using that familiarity, while ROSÉ gains another platform on which to shape her public image.
There is a useful distinction, though. A global partnership announcement tells us what a brand intends to do. It does not by itself prove that every market will respond in the same way, or that the artist will have equal creative involvement in every local execution.
What happens after the Seoul launch?
Diageo says campaigns are planned in the United Kingdom, Indonesia, China and other international markets. The Seoul event and initial concept have been announced, but a complete city-by-city schedule, all campaign dates and any limited-edition merchandise have not been confirmed in the official material reviewed for this article.
The signature highball is part of the launch story, and the brand has discussed bringing it to selected Seoul bars. We are treating those details as elements of an adult beverage promotion, not as a consumer recommendation or a guide to drinking.
Watch: ROSÉ in a recent official Instagram Reel
Saint Laurent posted a Reel on October 5, 2026, showing ROSÉ alongside music producer Mark Ronson at its Women’s Summer 2027 fashion show, held in Paris on September 29, 2026. The “2027” in the collection’s name refers to the upcoming fashion season, not the year the event took place. This is a Saint Laurent event video, separate from the newly announced Johnnie Walker campaign.

One partnership does not tell the whole story
The interesting part is not whether ROSÉ can attract attention. She already can. It is whether this campaign creates something recognisably hers instead of attaching her name to a familiar product. That will be easier to judge when the wider creative work appears.
Until then, the confirmed news is a new partnership, a Seoul launch and an international plan. It is not a new ROSÉ music release, and there is no announced song attached to the deal.
