Company overview
The JYP story has never belonged to just one kind of K-pop act. TWICE can fill a stadium with a polished pop spectacle, while DAY6 can hold the same audience’s attention with a guitar and a song that feels like a diary entry. Stray Kids, ITZY and NMIXX offer still more ways of approaching a performance. Follow the music for a while and you begin to understand why JYP works less like a single sound and more like a house with several distinct creative rooms.
Company, labels and artist relationships
The picture gets even more interesting outside Korea. NiziU and NEXZ have strong connections to Japan, BOY STORY and YAOCHEN appear in the company’s China-facing history, and GIRLSET belongs to its American portfolio. A Japanese album rollout may have different dates and channels from a Korean comeback. It pays to follow the correct artist team rather than assume that a headline translated into English describes one worldwide launch.
KWaveScope A–Z groups
These links lead to the JYP groups already covered in KWaveScope’s A–Z directory. They’re a convenient starting point; further down you’ll find the broader official roster, solo performers and earlier acts that shaped the company.
How to verify official news
JYP keeps a useful archive of artist pages, albums and videos. When a new song is announced, that is where we start checking the title, release date and official video. A teaser or dance film can be part of the campaign, but it should not be confused with the full music video. For Japanese, Chinese and American projects, the relevant local channel may fill in details the main Korean page does not.
A deeper look: history, finances and fan visits
There’s a practical side to the story, too. Fans planning a day in Seoul want to know where the office actually is, whether the much-discussed staff cafe is open to visitors, and where to find a real audition notice. Those questions are just as worth answering as the band’s next comeback.
Company history and milestones
1996–2002: formation and first major acts
JYP’s company history begins in 1996, when the business was incorporated. It took the JYP Entertainment name in 2001. The early artist timeline is a little like a map of late-1990s and early-2000s Korean pop: god debuted in 1999, and Rain followed in 2002, before international streaming was anywhere near the centre of the industry.
2007–2014: internationally known generations
Wonder Girls’ ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Nobody’ helped define one wave of pop music. Soon came 2PM’s performance-driven style, 2AM’s vocals, miss A’s confident debut and GOT7’s international appeal. The acts arrived in different years and went on to make different choices; it would be misleading to call all of them current JYP-exclusive performers today.
2015–2022: groups and bands diversify
In 2015, TWICE debuted in the same year as DAY6—an early sign of the range JYP would develop. Stray Kids followed in 2018 and ITZY in 2019. Then NiziU, Xdinary Heroes and NMIXX widened the picture further, from Japan-focused idol pop to a six-member rock band and a group known for abrupt musical turns.
2024–2026: continuing new projects
NEXZ arrived in 2024, KickFlip in 2025, and JYP’s timeline records dodree and OURBIRTHDAY in 2026. The company’s later projects are not simply remakes of its early hits. They reflect a music business shaped by global touring, digital fan communities and production teams that focus on different kinds of artists.
Former and notable artists: who shaped the agency?
JYP’s older credits are almost a separate listening guide: god, Rain, Wonder Girls, 2AM, miss A and GOT7 all belong to its past, while 2PM, DAY6, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY and other current acts carry the story forward. Those categories matter. An archive entry tells us who helped build the company, not necessarily who has a current management contract.
How big is JYP Entertainment?
KRW 821.9 billion
KRW 155.2 billion
The 2025 financial results show how large that wider business has become. JYP reported consolidated revenue from recordings, shows, merchandise and related activities across its operations. That is a company-level picture; it cannot tell us how much any one band earned or how many people were in a concert audience.
The figures here refer to the financial year ending December 31, 2025 and are presented in Korean won. Revenue and operating profit describe different parts of the same set of accounts.
Headquarters address and Google Maps
English: 205 Gangdong-daero, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Korean for taxis and map apps: 서울특별시 강동구 강동대로 205
Open on Google Maps ↗Get directions ↗
How do I get there by subway?
For a first visit, start with Gangdong-gu Office Station on Line 8. Seoul’s visitor guide suggests Exit 2 and a walk of roughly 500 metres; it also describes a route from Dunchon-dong Station on Line 5. Use a current Korean map for the exact exit and walking path on the day rather than relying on an old fan vlog.
It’s worth saving the Korean address in advance. The office is a working headquarters, so a map pin tells you where the building stands—not where an artist will arrive, where an audition takes place or whether visitors may enter.
Can fans go inside or meet artists?
JYP’s Gangdong headquarters is easy to recognize, but it is not a museum. Fans can see the exterior from public space. Studios, working floors and internal food facilities are used by staff and artists, and the official sources reviewed here do not offer a regular walk-in building tour.
What is special inside the agency?
Descriptions of the workplace reveal some of the company’s personality. They make the building more interesting to read about, but they shouldn’t be mistaken for a list of public attractions.
JYP BOB: organic staff meals
JYP’s recruitment pages describe an organic-focused employee meal program that provides lunch and dinner. It’s an unusual perk in an entertainment workplace—and a reminder that an agency is also an office full of designers, engineers, managers and production staff. It isn’t a canteen that tourists can reserve.
SOULCUP: an internal cafe
SOULCUP comes up frequently in stories about JYP. The company describes it as an internal cafe, with staff benefits and occasional themed items linked to artist projects. It’s part of how the workplace functions, not an ordinary coffee shop where visitors are promised a table.
How production teams work
Job stories on JYP’s recruiting site also introduce sound engineers, visual teams, marketers and the people behind Studio J. Those interviews reveal how many kinds of work are needed to bring a release or a tour to life. They do not disclose private rehearsal plans, and readers should not use them to speculate about artist arrivals.
A proposed future headquarters is not the current address
JYP has discussed a future headquarters project in Godeok Biz Valley, and Gangdong District announced a construction permit in April 2026. That is not the same thing as a completed move. The working address given in the current company information remains 205 Gangdong-daero. Check the latest notice before making a special journey.
What else can a fan do nearby?
Olympic Park is a pleasant alternative if you’re planning the day around the neighborhood. Check its current access hours or any event restrictions and enjoy the area as a normal visitor. The old Cheongdam office and any proposed new headquarters should not be confused with the current address.
Frequently asked questions before visiting
Can a fan visit JYP BOB or SOULCUP?
They are described by the company as employee and artist facilities. Do not assume they are public cafés or eateries.
Is this the same building as JYP’s old Cheongdam office?
No. The official JYP history places the headquarters move to Gangdong in 2018.
Has JYP already moved to a new Godeok headquarters?
The 2026 materials support a proposed construction project, not a completed replacement for the registered Gangdong-daero address.
Can I meet TWICE or Stray Kids there?
An artist sighting is not a bookable visitor experience and cannot be predicted from the office address.
Can I apply for an audition at the front desk?
Use JYP’s official audition website and published procedures instead of arriving at the office without an appointment.
Official sources used for this expanded guide
A street outside an entertainment office is still a street where people work and live. Enjoy the exterior, leave entrances clear and follow published instructions if there is an actual fan event. There is no official artist-meeting schedule attached to the headquarters address.
Beyond A–Z: the wider JYP Entertainment artist roster
JYP’s story cannot be told through its biggest Korean groups alone. An international fan may follow NiziU in Japanese, BOY STORY in Chinese, and DAY6 through Korean concert news—without realizing the companies and teams behind those releases are linked. The directory below starts with JYP’s official artist list and corporate timeline, then explains where individual and regional arrangements call for care.
The entries are a company-and-project guide as of October 20, 2026, not a claim that every named member holds an identical current solo contract. Group membership, a member’s solo agency, production division and overseas distribution can all differ.
| Artist / project | Company or division relationship | Members and context |
|---|---|---|
| J.Y. Park (Park Jin-young) | Solo artist and creative executive | Korean singer, songwriter and producer. JYP’s published artist directory includes him as an artist alongside his corporate role. |
| 2PM | Group; individual activities vary | JUN. K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho and Chansung are associated with the group’s history. Some members’ solo management has changed; check a current notice for each independent activity. |
| DAY6 | STUDIO J band | Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon; former member Jae is part of the band’s history, not the present lineup. |
| TWICE | STRIDE group | Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu. Their solo releases do not change the fact that TWICE is a nine-member group. |
| Stray Kids | ONE Label group | Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, HAN, Felix, Seungmin and I.N; an eight-member group with substantial songwriting involvement. |
| ITZY | BLU:M group | Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. JYP announced a contract renewal involving all five members in September 2025. |
| NMIXX | SQU4D group | Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin; six current members. Jinni is a former member, not part of the current six-person lineup. |
| Xdinary Heroes | STUDIO J band | Gunil, Jungsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han and Jooyeon. A live-band project with instruments and original songwriting rather than the traditional idol-group format. |
| NiziU | Japan-led project; ONE Label relationship | Mako, Rio, Maya, Riku, Ayaka, Mayuka, Rima, Miihi and Nina. Japan-specific promotions should be checked through the official Japanese channels. |
| NEXZ | Japan and Korea promotions; ONE Label | A boy group introduced through the Nizi Project 2 process. Check the current official artist page for members and the territorial schedule of individual releases. |
| KickFlip | STRIDE boy group | Debuted in January 2025. Its releases and events are recorded in JYP’s official album and video listings. |
| BOY STORY | JYP China-linked Chinese group | An act associated with JYP’s Chinese development operation; Chinese-language schedules are not necessarily Korean comebacks. |
| YAOCHEN | JYP China-linked solo performer | An artist listed in JYP’s own international roster. His releases and activities should be checked against China-focused channels. |
| CIIU (奔赴少年) | China-based project | Official history lists a 2025 debut. The precise romanization and overseas promotion details should follow the artist’s current official channel. |
| GIRLSET | U.S.-oriented group | A project in JYP’s American/global roster. Note the distinction between its current branding and earlier project stages. |
| dodree | Korean project in JYP’s 2026 history | JYP’s timeline records a January 2026 debut. For management details and membership, follow its separately credited official releases. |
| OURBIRTHDAY | New 2026 group/project | The company timeline records an August 2026 debut; official audition and video pages also show the release ‘SQUEEZY’. |
| 2PM and DAY6 solo releases | Individual recordings under group-associated brands | For example, JUN. K and Young K appear in official JYP album/video listings. A member’s solo single is not automatically a group comeback. |

Who belongs to which JYP production label?
JYP’s internal labels are not just alternate logos. They organize the people who manage releases, arrange performances and coordinate global campaigns. A July 2026 recruiting notice publicly described how the main teams were divided.
| Division or related business | Artists or function in official materials | What the distinction means |
|---|---|---|
| ONE Label | 2PM, Stray Kids, NiziU, NEXZ | A team whose repertoire stretches from senior Korean idols to Japanese-market artists. It is not a separate parent corporation. |
| BLU:M | ITZY | A dedicated label team supporting the five-member group and its music, visual identity and live activity. |
| STRIDE | J.Y. Park, TWICE, KickFlip | Three very different careers managed within a production structure; the label designation does not mean they release music together. |
| SQU4D | NMIXX | An artist-oriented group focused on NMIXX’s music, performance and visual storytelling. |
| STUDIO J | DAY6, Xdinary Heroes | JYP’s band-facing label. Its musicians, touring needs and recording workflows are different from an idol dance team’s. |
| JYP JAPAN / JYP CHINA / JYP America | Regional projects and promotion | The locality of a record campaign matters: a release in Japan or China is not automatically a worldwide release. |
| Blue Garage | IP, platform and technology initiatives | The company history states that JYP Three Sixty adopted the Blue Garage name in December 2024. |
| INNIT Entertainment | Separate JYP-established subsidiary | Created in 2024 to develop artists in varied genres. A subsidiary should not be mistaken for a group lineup. |
| JYP Partners | Investment operation | A finance and investment-related business, not an artist label. |
The allocation above follows JYP’s 2026 division descriptions ↗. Team names and artist responsibilities can change with restructuring, so a new recruiting notice may supersede this snapshot.
Contract changes and former artists: keep the eras separate
A reader looking up an older JYP hit can easily stumble into an outdated roster. Wonder Girls, miss A, GOT7, Rain and 2AM are essential to the label’s past, but a historical credit is not proof of a present-day exclusive recording contract. The same caution applies to past DAY6 and NMIXX members. For newer news, use each artist’s most recent agency statement.
One current relationship is especially clear: JYP’s September 2025 company notice said all five ITZY members—Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna—renewed their contracts. That is a different kind of evidence from simply finding an ITZY song in JYP’s archive. Likewise, the presence of TWICE’s solo albums in the company catalog does not make every track a TWICE group single.
A listening route through JYP’s history
The company is often described as a home for catchy choreography, but that misses the bands and regional projects. This listening trail crosses generations without pretending that influence can be measured by one chart.
| Period | Act | Songs to begin with | Why they matter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1999 | god | ‘To Mother’ and ‘One Candle’ | A useful early reference for emotionally direct Korean pop. The group belongs to JYP’s corporate history, not necessarily its current exclusive roster. |
| 2000–2002 | Park Jiyoon / Rain | ‘Coming of Age Ceremony’ / ‘Bad Guy’ | JYP’s early producer-led sound expanded beyond conventional idol groups. |
| 2007 | Wonder Girls | ‘Tell Me’, ‘Nobody’ | The choreography-led hits that shaped a generation of K-pop nostalgia. |
| 2008 | 2PM / 2AM | ‘Again & Again’ / ‘This Song’ | Dance-performance and vocal-ballad projects developed in the same broad era. |
| 2010 | miss A | ‘Bad Girl Good Girl’, ‘Hush’ | A very different girl-group identity from Wonder Girls. |
| 2014 | GOT7 | ‘Just Right’, ‘Hard Carry’ | An international group that remains important to JYP’s history although its members later pursued different management paths. |
| 2015 | DAY6 | ‘Congratulations’, ‘You Were Beautiful’ | A listening route from idol pop toward JYP’s live-band story. |
| 2015 | TWICE | ‘Cheer Up’, ‘TT’, ‘Feel Special’ | Playful early singles and a later catalog with a broader emotional range. |
| 2018 | Stray Kids | ‘God’s Menu’, ‘MANIAC’ | Performance, powerful production and a distinctive in-house creative identity. |
| 2019 | ITZY | ‘DALLA DALLA’, ‘WANNABE’ | Individuality, expressive choreography and a bold debut period. |
| 2020 | NiziU | ‘Make you happy’ | A Japan-focused idol project whose reach crosses language markets. |
| 2021 | Xdinary Heroes | ‘Happy Death Day’ | A guitar-driven detour for readers who associate JYP only with dance music. |
| 2022 | NMIXX | ‘O.O’, ‘DICE’ | A deliberate blend of musical changes within a single track or performance. |
| 2024 | NEXZ | ‘Ride the Vibe’ | One of JYP’s more recent cross-border group introductions. |
| 2025 | KickFlip | ‘Mama Said’ | New-generation group material that differs from the veteran catalog. |
| 2026 | OURBIRTHDAY / dodree | Official debut releases | The next entries in the company’s history, best heard alongside official release dates rather than assumed trends. |
Eight practical questions about JYP Entertainment
1. Who founded JYP, and who shapes its music today?
Park Jin-young, known professionally as J.Y. Park, founded the creative business that became JYP Entertainment. The company’s corporate timeline begins in 1996 and records a change to the JYP Entertainment name in 2001. He remains a performer and producer as well as the chief creative officer described in 2026 recruitment materials. That blend of musician and executive is part of why the company’s sound has such a recognizable history.
The business itself now operates through several production divisions and international companies. Describing every modern release as a single producer’s personal work would overlook the writers, performers, designers, A&R teams and label staff responsible for different artists. It is more accurate to think of Park as a central historical and creative figure in a much larger organization.
2. What songs best explain JYP’s different generations?
Start with Wonder Girls’ ‘Nobody’, 2PM’s ‘Again & Again’ and miss A’s ‘Bad Girl Good Girl’ to hear the earlier dance-pop period. From there, compare TWICE’s ‘Feel Special’ with Stray Kids’ ‘God’s Menu’ and ITZY’s ‘WANNABE’. Those three records alone show that JYP does not use one musical formula for every act.
For something different, play DAY6’s ‘You Were Beautiful’ and Xdinary Heroes’ ‘Happy Death Day’. Both bands write and perform music for live stages, but their sounds are not interchangeable. Then try a Japanese release from NiziU or NEXZ. It is a more interesting journey than a greatest-hits list restricted to Korean singles.
3. Can people outside Korea apply for a JYP audition?
Yes, depending on the specific program. The official JYP AUDITION portal lists an ongoing online application route and publishes dated notices for centre, global and specialist auditions. As of October 20, 2026, its site also lists PROJECT NOIR: BAND AUDITION, scheduled to run through November 15. That is a dated opportunity, not a promise that every application type will always be open.
Check eligibility, birth-year limits, permitted performance categories, the recording format and the stated location before applying. The official portal warns about people impersonating casting staff or trainees. Never pay someone who claims to guarantee a pass, and do not submit sensitive documents through an unofficial messaging account.
4. Can fans visit JYP BOB or SOULCUP?
The names appear frequently in fan conversations because the company itself describes them. JYP BOB is the employee dining program, and SOULCUP is an internal cafe associated with staff and artists. Their food philosophy and menu experiments tell an interesting workplace story, but neither facility should be advertised as a public restaurant.
For sightseeing, a sensible plan is to view the office building from public space and spend the rest of the afternoon in nearby Olympic Park or at another venue that actually welcomes visitors. Look for an independently advertised public event rather than assuming that an employee amenity has a walk-in counter.
5. What makes JYP’s business model different?
JYP manages records, concerts, merchandise, advertising and other artist-related projects while using distinct teams for bands, idol groups and overseas performers. Its regional subsidiaries help explain why NiziU, NEXZ, BOY STORY and GIRLSET might have news schedules that do not match the Korean release calendar.
The separate Blue Garage and INNIT businesses are also part of JYP’s wider organization, but they should not be presented as if every project belongs to the same core artist-management contract. Even when the corporate brand is shared, the release date, promoter, manager and fan platform may differ by market.
6. Where is the current headquarters, and can tourists enter?
JYP’s official headquarters is listed at 205 Gangdong-daero, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. It moved to the Gangdong address in 2018. You can save the Korean address in a mapping app and see the exterior from lawful public space; there is no regular public tour of rehearsal rooms or executive floors offered through the official sources reviewed for this guide.
Reports about a proposed new building in Godeok Biz Valley are not evidence that the office has moved. Check the company’s latest contact page before travelling. A dedicated audition venue, concert hall or fan event may be elsewhere entirely, so always verify the address for the activity you actually booked.
7. Can fans send letters or gifts to TWICE or Stray Kids?
Possibly, but only under the relevant act’s current fan-club or agency instructions. An address for business correspondence is not necessarily a receiving address for letters or presents, and individual teams can have different gift rules. Some events specifically prohibit physical gifts or unannounced deliveries.
Use the artist’s official notice channel to confirm whether letters are accepted, where to send them and how to identify the intended member or team. If there is no current instruction, do not leave packages at the office entrance. That protects both the recipient and the people who work in the building.
8. How large is JYP compared with SM, YG and HYBE?
JYP reported FY2025 consolidated revenue of KRW 821.9 billion and operating profit of KRW 155.2 billion. Those figures are from the company’s own earnings note; they capture a corporate group rather than one artist’s album sales. The same disclosure points to albums, touring and merchandise as important contributors to that year.
A comparison is useful only when the reporting period and accounting basis match. For context, other Korean entertainment companies may consolidate labels, event promoters or overseas subsidiaries in different ways. A company’s financial ranking is not a ranking of artistic quality or how many fans one act has.

Looking ahead
A JYP playlist can travel from Wonder Girls and 2PM to DAY6, TWICE, Stray Kids and NMIXX without sounding like six versions of the same idea. That’s what makes this company interesting to follow. The roster keeps changing, the production teams have different priorities, and artists in Japan, China and the United States add their own chapters. The most rewarding way to understand JYP is to follow those stories individually—and notice where they meet.
