TREASURE’s latest single, “SHOCK,” has caught the attention of Billboard Brasil. On November 2, Billboard Brasil ran a Portuguese-language feature on the group’s latest release, drawing attention to its electronic hip-hop production and the tightly coordinated choreography of its official music video.
Published on the single’s release day, the Brazilian feature looked beyond the comeback announcement. It highlighted the song’s bright synthesizers, heavy bass and driving rhythm — the same elements that give its music video such force.

What Billboard Brasil noticed about “SHOCK”
Billboard Brasil’s November 2 article, titled “TREASURE traz elementos do hip-hop em novo single, ‘SHOCK’,” described the track as a continuation of TREASURE’s move toward hip-hop. It singled out the weight of the bass and the electronic textures, then turned to the music video’s synchronized dance sequences.
The beat rarely lets up, and neither does the choreography. As the track moves between pounding bass and sharper rhythmic breaks, the members respond with tightly synchronized movements that make the music video a performance in its own right.
Billboard Brasil also included the group’s explanation of the single’s title. TREASURE said they wanted the comeback to communicate their current momentum and leave fans with a positive, lasting impact. They also thanked supporters for the response to their recent promotions and fan concerts.
The YG sound behind the comeback
The new song follows NEW WAV, TREASURE’s fourth mini album, released in June. On its official discography page, YG Entertainment identifies “SHOCK” as electronic hip-hop, continuing the direction explored on that earlier project.
The credits offer another connection. BIGTONE and P.K are among the contributors, alongside international collaborators from the NEW WAV sessions. YG’s official notes also credit an interpolation of 1TYM’s “Hot,” drawing a line back to the label’s earlier hip-hop catalogue. See KWaveScope’s YG Entertainment profile for more about the label.

“SHOCK” builds on a sound TREASURE had already begun exploring with NEW WAV earlier this year, rather than marking a sudden stylistic change.

The video puts the song’s rhythmic energy into motion, with the members performing amid industrial-looking sets and bold visual effects. The official release was published on November 2, 2026.

Brazilian coverage is not the same as a chart entry
Billboard Brasil’s coverage shows that “SHOCK” has been introduced to the publication’s Portuguese-speaking music audience. The article is a release feature, however, not a report that the song has entered the Billboard Brasil Hot 100. No Brazilian chart position or concert announcement was stated in the report.
For Portuguese-speaking readers, Billboard Brasil’s article is another way to discover how TREASURE’s sound has evolved since NEW WAV. It also shows how a Korean comeback can become a music story in Brazil without being tied to a local concert or chart ranking.
