SEVENTEEN’s JEONGHAN and JOSHUA have shared the stage for years. Now, with their first unit tour, the spotlight belongs to just the two of them. As Business Insider’s latest report makes clear, the friendship they formed before SEVENTEEN’s 2015 debut is as important to JxJ as the songs they perform.
In a November 3 feature, Business Insider’s Cheryl Teh looked back at how the two artists became close as trainees and attended two nights of their first Journey Into [DREAMING] shows in Incheon. The report focused on what the pair are like together: comfortable enough to tease each other, but also willing to take very different musical paths when they step into the spotlight.

From trainee roommates to a stage built for two
JEONGHAN and JOSHUA knew each other long before stadium concerts and international tours were part of their routine. JOSHUA arrived from Los Angeles, while JEONGHAN was growing up in South Korea. Living and training together meant learning to communicate across different backgrounds as well as finding their place in the group.
More than a decade after meeting as trainees, they are making music together as JxJ, SEVENTEEN’s two-member unit. They had already spent years sharing a stage with 11 other members, but this project puts their own choices — and the ease of their friendship — front and center. Business Insider also spoke with the duo ahead of the album, when they described a chemistry that felt different from performing as all 13 members.
Three Incheon nights, with plenty of room for surprises
The first Journey Into [DREAMING] concerts took place at INSPIRE Arena in Incheon from October 30 through November 1. Business Insider reported roughly 25,000 attendees across all three nights; its reporter was there for two of the shows.
JxJ performed all five of their duo tracks from DREAMSCAPE, moving from the rhythmic bass of “Outside” to the dance-rock sound of “12 o’clock.” They also revisited SEVENTEEN favorites, including “Crazy in Love” and “Come to Me.”
Some of the night’s most memorable moments came between songs. The two teased each other during games, bent the rules and tried to escape the penalties. In one playful turn, they ended up doing a dance challenge together anyway. For an audience used to seeing them as part of a large group, those unplanned exchanges offered a different kind of entertainment.

A shared friendship, two distinct musical styles
The solo sets revealed how much room the partnership gives each artist. JOSHUA picked up an electric guitar, moving between the English version of “Baby Come Home” and the alternative-rock energy of “Not Personal.” JEONGHAN took a softer route at the keyboard for “Coincidence,” then performed “Coloring,” his new solo track from DREAMSCAPE.
Their solo performances showed how different their tastes can be. In conversations while preparing the album, they told Business Insider, each discovered more about what the other wanted to try musically.

Why the story matters to CARAT
One fan interviewed by Business Insider had traveled from the United States to attend the concerts. What stayed with her was not only the set list, but how naturally the two members seemed to enjoy being onstage together. It is an easy part of the concert to overlook on paper, but onstage, their friendship was impossible to miss.
The unit’s first mini album, DREAMSCAPE, arrived on October 19. The album has already made an impression on the charts. Business Insider’s story, though, is less about the numbers than about what the two artists bring out in each other onstage. The tour is scheduled to continue in Japan on November 21–22, with more shows planned in Macau, Taiwan and Busan through February 2027. Away from the stage, the two are also sharing mood boards and behind-the-scenes moments through their joint Pinterest project, JxJ Diary.
