Profile
UNCHILD is a six-member K-pop girl group formed by High Up Entertainment, the company behind STAYC. YEEUN, HEEKIE, TINA, AKO, EVON and HAEUN debuted on April 21, 2026, with the two-track single album We Are UNCHILD. The title track, “UNCHILD,” introduced their approach to bright but deliberately unconventional electronic pop.
The group’s name begins with the prefix “UN-,” expressing a refusal to accept the ordinary as a fixed standard. Their early campaign introduced the members as “rule-breakers” in a colorful fictional setting called “UNCHILD High School,” complete with redesigned school uniforms, mismatched accessories and a frog character that later became part of their visual identity.
The debut single album contains two contrasting tracks. “UNCHILD” blends gritty electric guitar riffs with psychedelic electronic textures and a garage-influenced rhythm, while “ENERGY” uses house-based grooves and lively synthesizers. High Up Entertainment’s producer Rado contributed to the project. The group’s bold visual concept was matched by demanding choreography, including a dance break that the members helped create.
The members bring different skills and backgrounds to the team. HEEKIE leads the group and works as a main rapper, while EVON and YEEUN take established main and lead vocal positions. Chinese member TINA contributes expressive movement and dance skills; Japanese member AKO brings an energetic performance style. HAEUN, previously known for her childhood dance appearances, joined the lineup as its youngest performer.
During their debut promotions, UNCHILD found unconventional ways to meet audiences. In April, they staged an exhibition-like “UNSCHOOL” experience at Sangam, turning a public space into a playful classroom. They later appeared on several Korean television music programs, singing with handheld microphones while performing the single’s dynamic choreography.
The group’s second digital single, TiNG TiNG, was initially announced for September 2026 but was later postponed. High Up subsequently confirmed November 5, 2026, at 6 p.m. KST as the new scheduled date. Its concept casts the six members as eccentric heroes drawn into a city-wide glitch mystery, using silver outfits, outlandish gadgets and a sharper “poison frog” visual style.
On October 25, ahead of that planned release, UNCHILD shared the full performance video for the B-side “TRICKY GRLS.” In early November, they held a roughly 50-person flash-mob performance in Seoul to preview the comeback. On November 5, 2026, UNCHILD released TiNG TiNG as a digital single, accompanied by the full title-track music video.
