WISHes Mark Their Second Anniversary With ‘I MY ME MINE’ and a Thank-You to Fans

October 27, 2026 | KPOP-NEW

WISHes are back together on record for the first time in roughly 18 months. The virtual idol duo released “I MY ME MINE” on October 27, the same day they celebrated their second anniversary with a message to the fans who have followed them since debut.

For members Mumune and Iyla, the timing gives the comeback a personal dimension. They have released music and appeared before audiences in different ways since their debut, but this is a chance to show what has changed between them as a duo — and to pick up a conversation with listeners that has continued even between group releases.

A song that lives somewhere between friendship and romance

The second single pairs Jersey-club rhythms with house influences, giving the song a brisk, playful pulse. Its lyrics are about the uncertain space between friendship and romance — the moment when a familiar relationship starts to feel a little different.

The music video gives that idea an unusual setting: Mumune plays a doll, and Iyla is the doll’s owner. The two characters move between separate spaces, with choreography built around their changing relationship. Iyla said she particularly wanted fans to notice the playful interaction between the characters, including a scene in which she holds the smaller Mumune doll.

Both members were enthusiastic about the track from the beginning. Mumune recalled thinking it suited them immediately, while Iyla said the finished song felt even cuter and softer than she had expected. Their recollections also came with the kind of small details that rarely make it into a comeback poster: one dance practice was so energetic that Iyla bumped her forehead, and she later found herself humming the melody while walking down the street.

The moment both members still remember

Asked which moment from the past two years they would most like to revisit, both members gave the same answer: their first-anniversary showcase. Mumune remembered the satisfaction of seeing all the preparation pay off. Iyla remembered leaning on each other during rehearsals and hearing the fans respond when they finally performed.

Mumune also spoke about how close the pair have become. These days, she said, it is hard to imagine ordinary life without Iyla. Iyla returned the compliment, saying she admired the care and determination Mumune showed while preparing her solo music. It was a warmer, more specific picture of their partnership than the usual promise to show ‘better chemistry’ on the next release.

The two thanked their fan community, Irumi, for staying alongside them. Mumune credited that support with helping her grow, while Iyla said she hoped they could continue sharing moments with fans for a long time. It is a familiar anniversary sentiment, but one that felt grounded in the showcase memories both had just described.

What WISHes hope to try next

Both members would like to bring that atmosphere into future performances. Mumune hopes for more chances to meet fans offline and wants the group to have its own fan chant. Iyla dreams of hearing a crowd sing along at a WISHes concert; she would also love to contribute music to a game soundtrack.

Those are wishes rather than confirmed plans. For now, the duo have a song to introduce and an anniversary to celebrate. After a long wait for new group music, “I MY ME MINE” gives Irumi something fresh to listen to — and gives Mumune and Iyla another shared milestone to remember.
