Red Velvet’s IRENE and SEULGI have released Cheetah, their first original Japanese mini album, with the CD officially arriving on November 4. The five-song release puts their chemistry in focus, pairing the upbeat title track with more mature R&B-inspired moods and intimate moments.
Fans could already stream all five songs from September 14, but the physical edition arrived on November 4. Its release comes as IRENE & SEULGI JAPAN TOUR 2026 -blank- wraps up in Yokohama.
Five original songs for Japan
The title track, “Cheetah,” brings a bright, energetic start. Elsewhere, the duo explores R&B-influenced sounds and more delicate emotions. Rather than reworking older material in Japanese, they have recorded five original songs for this release.

IRENE and SEULGI debuted as a Red Velvet subunit in 2020, quickly establishing their own identity through precise performances and contrasting vocal tones. Cheetah brings that partnership to a new audience with their first original Japanese mini album.

Three physical editions
The album comes in three CD formats, each featuring the same five songs. The limited Special Kit includes a laptop pouch and collectible items, the First Press Digipak offers a 36-page photobook, and the Regular Edition includes a 20-page booklet.

The tour reaches Yokohama on November 5
IRENE and SEULGI are scheduled to perform at Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall on November 5. Doors are scheduled to open at 5 p.m., with the performance starting at 6 p.m. Japan time.
For the Yokohama dates, the organizer’s updated notice says the venue promotion uses reservations for the Regular Edition of the album. Eligible customers can receive an entry into a lottery for a post-show meet-and-greet, but a reservation does not guarantee a place. The Special Kit and Digipak editions are not eligible for this particular venue lottery.
The CD release gives fans another way to experience songs they have been streaming since September. Combined with the tour, it makes Cheetah a memorable next step in the duo’s work in Japan.
